Squash, Men's Singles: Abhay Singh advances to semi-final with a 3-0 win

Abhay Singh advances to the squash men's singles semi-final with a straight-game (11-4, 11-3, 11-6) win over home favourite Ryunosuke Tsukue.

He tired his opponent with long rallies, pushing him down both corners, resulting in multiple weak unforced errors from Tsukue and a comfortable 24-minute win for Abhay.

He will next face the winner of the other semi-final between India's Veer Chotrani and Pakistan's Muhammad Irfan.

Table Tennis, Women's Singles: Yashaswini Ghorpade advances to prequarterfinals with a 4-1 win

Yashaswini defeated Syria’s Hend Zaza in five games (11-5, 11-5, 11-8, 8-11, 11-4) to begin her singles campaign.

She will next face the tough Japanese opponent, Miwa Harimoto, in the last 16 tomorrow.

Table Tennis, Men's Doubles: Manav-Manush exits in R32; Harmeet-Sathiyan advances

An early exit for the top Indian men's doubles pairing of Manav Thakkar and Manush, losing in the second round to Tomokazu Harimoto and Hiroto Shinozuka of Japan, 7-11, 9-11, 11-7, 6-11.

Meanwhile, Harmeet Desai and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran defeated Affan Pratama and Muhammad Negara of Indonesia in five games (11-4, 11-7, 7-11, 8-11, 11-6) to advance to the Round of 16.

Harmeet and Sathiyan will now take on another Japanese pair, Sora Matushima and Shunshuke Togame, in the round of 16 later today.

India will enter the semifinals as strong contenders for a place in the final. Nepal will also earn a bronze irrespective of the result. 

Shooting, 50m Rifle Three Positions Qualification: Indian team bags silver medal

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar, and Rudrankksh Patil combined to score 1762 and won a silver medal behind China.

Aishwary (589) and Niraj Kumar (588) also qualified for the individual final, finishing 3rd and 4th, respectively. Rudrankksh (585) missed out on the final, finishing 9th.

Kamaljeet was brought in at the last minute, replacing Kedarling after their performance in the men's 10m Air Pistol

Indian team of Taniksha Khatri, Mitva Chaudhari and Yashkeerat Kaur bowed down 29-45 to the strong Uzbekistan team in the table of 16.

Mitva Chaudhari won the most points for India with 13, while Yashkeerat and Taniksha scored 8 points each.
