The four gold medals, along with three bronze medals from boxing and wrestling, took India's tally to 60 medals: 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze, moving the country up to seventh in the standings.

India's women's hockey team also booked its place in the final with a 2-0 win over South Korea, setting up a gold-medal clash against China.

After the triple gold medals yesterday, the question was if India would be able to make a complete sweep with 5 gold medals in compound as they did in Hangzhou last edition.

It has been answered nice and early today. It'll not be 5/5.

Both Indians in women's compound individual have been knocked out before the semis.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam was bested by a 14-year-old South Korean, who had shot a perfect 150 in Round of 16.

Ganesh Thirumuru, in men's compound individual, will now have the onus on him to defend India's title in the discipline.

The first two ends do go in favour of qualification topper and two-time gold medallist Chikitha Taniparthi.

She shoots 29 twice, while her Indonesian opponent doesn't falter shooting 30 apiece.

The third end once again has Chikitha shoots a 29, but this time the Indonesian could only manage a 29.

Chikitha, however, comes alive in the fourth end. She again manages only 29 but her opponent has suddenly strayed way wide into the eight range. Not once, but twice!

All Chikitha as to do now is hold on to her one-point advantage.

And she can't. The wind seems to be affecting her. She has strayed to an 8 herself with her first shot in the final end. A 9 follows. Only 27 for her.

The Indonesian has a 29.

India will not defend its women's compound individual gold medal. This was always on the cards with Chikitha's form in the team events yesterday.

Compound archery action will continue for India as they look to make it 5/5 with Chikitha Taniparthi and Ganesh Thirumuru in action in the individual events.

Besides, Sumit Nagal will have to shoulder the responsibilities alone in tennis with rest of the Indian tennis contingent sent pack early.

Two big India v/s Pakistan in volleyball, hockey, and an unexpected gold medal in men's skiff sailing is also on the horizon.
