Asian Games 2026: When and where to watch India’s events; Live streaming details

The 20th edition of the Asian Games will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19th to October 4th.

The 20th Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, marking the third time Japan has hosted the continental multi-sport event.

Japan previously hosted the Asian Games in Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. Aichi-Nagoya 2026 will feature 43 sports, 71 disciplines and 469 medal events.

India will send a contingent of 496 athletes, comprising 264 men and 232 women, across 36 sports. The contingent includes Olympic medallists such as Manu Bhaker, Aman Sehrawat and Mirabai Chanu.

While the opening ceremony is scheduled for September 19, India’s competition will begin earlier. Teqball events are set to start on September 17, followed by soft tennis and women’s cricket on September 18

Where to watch the Asian Games?

Sony Sports Network holds the broadcast and streaming rights for the 2026 Asian Games in India. Live coverage will be available on the SonyLIV app and website from September 17.

The event will also be broadcast on Sony Sports Network’s television channels, with Sony Sports 1 to Sony Sports 5 carrying live coverage.

Competition on most days is scheduled to begin at around 5:30 AM IST and continue until approximately 7:30 PM IST. However, some events will start earlier.

Golf is scheduled to begin at 3:00 AM IST, surfing at 3:30 AM IST and archery at 4:30 AM IST.
