The Indian women's hockey team led by goalkeeper Savita Punia put up a brilliant show as it defeated Singapore 13-0 in its opening Pool A match at the 19th Asian Games on Wednesday. Ten different Indian players scored in the match. India will next play Malaysia on September 29 at 4 PM Indian Standard Time.

Sonika sends the ball into the roof of the net. India creates a brilliant play to burst into the box. Lalremsiami is the one who goes into the D. She is blocked by Singapore. Lalremsiami falls to the ground. But Sonika scores. Singapore challenges, stating there is an obstruction in the play.
Singapore wins the referral and Sonika's goal is cancelled.
Navneet sends a cracking delivery into the box and Sangita converts it. Singapore defenders have no chance. India takes a 13-0 lead in the match.

Monika finds herself in the D. She beats goalkeeper Felissa Shiqi to make it 12-0 for India.
Vandana Katariya scores, India goes 11-0 up in the match. Brilliant stick work from Salima Tete from the right flank. She sends a cross to Vandana, rushing into the D. Vandana taps the ball into the goal.
India earns a PC early into the final quarter. The first battery is Deepika and the second battery is Neha. Salima pushes the ball forward from the corner. It goes to Neha and she scores. India takes a 10-0 lead. Second goal for Neha.
The fouth and final quarter of the match begins. India breaks into the Singapore D. But no change in the scoreline. Singapore clears the danger.
India makes a few quick attempts to break the deadlock in the third quarter but could succeed only once. Only Salima managed to score in the 35th minute. India 9-0 Singapore.
