Archery: Indian women's team knocked out, fail to qualify for Tokyo Olympics - LIVE Updates

Today is the final chance for the Indian women's recurve archery team to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics at the Final Qualifier in Paris.

Fate was not in favour of the India today!

The Indian women's recurve archery team of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari has failed to qualify for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This is the first time since the 2000 Sydney Olympics that the Indian women's archery team will not be in action at the Olympics.

India will have representation in men's recurve singles, men's team event, women's singles, and mixed recurve event.

The Indian women's team won't be competing at the Tokyo Olympics in the recurve team event. However, Deepika Kumari will be competing in the women's singles and mixed event.

India was seeded second heading to the pre-QF and was certain to make the quarter-finals. Colombia has come from nowhere to beat the trio of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat, and Komalika Bari 6-0 (55-54, 51-49, 53-52).

India ends qualification round in 2nd position behind Mexico. The Indian women's recurve team scored 1992/2160 in full time. They will head directly into the pre-quarters of the Final Qualifying event where they will face the winner between Columbia (15th seed) and Kazakhstan (18th seed).
