India, on Monday, defeated Ireland by 5 runs via the DLS method to qualify for the semifinals of the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Smriti Mandhana starred with the bat for India after they opted to bat, before the rain played spoilsport during Ireland's chase.

India would have hoped for a better finish
India did manage to put up a good score, but Smriti Mandhana did not have the required support from the other end. The likes of Shafali and Kaur did get their eye in, but failed to explode. India eventually needed a cameo from Jemimah Rodrigues to get past the 150-mark after Ireland tightened things with some quick wickets towards the end.

Twin boundaries for Jemimah Rodrigues before being stumped off the final delivery of the innings. She has ensured that India cross the 150-mark after Smriti Mandhana's dismissal. Came down the track, but the bowler - Kelly, smartly rolled her fingers over the ball to fool the Mumbai lass.
