The High Jump event in the Men's T63 event saw Mariyappan Thangavelu, Sharad Kumar and Varun Bhati take centre stage at the Tokyo Paralympics. While Bhati could not medal, Mariyappan Thangavelu and Sharad Kumar shone with flying colours as they clinched the silver and the bronze honours with their heroic efforts. It was Thangavelu's second Paralympic medal as he cleared a height of 1.86m while Sharad Kumar notched a height of 1.83m to bag the silver and the bronze respectively. Meanwhile, it was Sam Grewe of the USA who won the gold after clearing a height of 1.88m.
