Despite Ayhika Mukherjee and Sreeja Akula defeating world number one and two, India lost to China in the World TT Team C'ships group tie.

Ayhika Mukherjee and Sreeja Akula won their respective women's singles matches against China on Friday.
World Table Tennis Team Championship: The Indian women's table tennis team put up a brilliant show against China but failed to create history. Despite leading 2-1 after three matches in the tie, India lost 2-3 after Ayhika Mukherjee, who in her first match defeated world no. 1 Sun Yingsha, lost the decider against Wang Manyu.
Sreeja Akula, meanwhile, defeated world no. 2 Wang Yidi but Manika Batra's two losses meant India had to deal with the defeat.
