Women-focused financial platform Lxme has partnered with Capri Sports to become the title sponsor of the Indian Women’s League (IWL), ahead of the 2026–27 season. The multi-year agreement marks the first major sponsorship milestone since Capri Sports secured a 15-year commercial development and marketing partnership with the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

The financial terms and exact duration of the sponsorship have not been disclosed.

The partnership brings Lxme’s focus on women’s financial independence into Indian women’s football, with the companies aiming to support the league’s growth and improve visibility and opportunities for women athletes.

Capri Sports’ long-term investment

Capri Sports entered into a 15-year agreement with the AIFF in September 2026 to oversee commercial development and marketing for both the IWL and the second-tier IWL 2. Its remit includes attracting brands and investment, building audiences, increasing the visibility of clubs and players, and strengthening broadcast and digital engagement.

Lxme’s entry as title sponsor is the first major sponsorship announcement under that arrangement. The companies have not yet outlined specific activations or programmes that will be delivered through the partnership.

Jinisha Sharma, director and promoter of Capri Sports, said: “We’ve always believed that women’s sport is good business. It needs investment, attention, and the same commercial ambition that has helped build successful sporting properties around the world.”

She added that the partnership was about bringing together businesses committed to supporting women’s sport and building the future of Indian women’s football.

Lxme extends its focus on women’s empowerment

For Lxme, the sponsorship extends its work in women’s financial empowerment into sport.

Founder Priti Rathi Gupta said: “We see a similar need in sport, where women athletes continue to deserve greater visibility, investment and opportunity.”

The platform said the partnership was a natural extension of its focus on women’s financial independence, while Capri Sports views the association as part of its wider effort to build a sustainable commercial ecosystem around women’s football.

IWL’s 2026–27 season

The upcoming IWL season is scheduled to begin on November 13, 2026, with eight clubs competing in 56 matches across Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bengaluru. Defending champions East Bengal FC will be joined by Sethu FC, Kickstart FC, Nita Football Academy, Gokulam Kerala FC, Garhwal United FC, HOPS FC and Juba Sangha FC. The season is scheduled to conclude on January 23, 2027.

The title sponsorship adds a new commercial partner as the league enters its next phase under Capri Sports’ long-term agreement with the AIFF.
