Manu Bhaker-Yashaswini Deswal to start the Indian proceedings

The women's pistol shooting duo of Manu Bhaker and Yashaswini Deswal will start the Indian proceedings with their qualification round of 10m Air Pistol today.

The Indian youngsters have performed well over the past few years, but will not have it easy by any means today. They will have to face stiff challenges from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro silver and bronze medallists Vitalina Batsarashkina and Anna Korakaki respectively. Hailing from Greece, Korakaki also holds the current World Qualification Record with a score of 587 points.

Manu Bhaker's Personal Best stands at 584, while Deswal's is 582.

    Gooood Morning!

Yesterday was a disappointing day for the Indian shooting. Out of the four shooters who were representing the country, only one - Saurabh Chaudhary, could qualify for the final. The final did not really matter either as the 19-year-old crumbled under pressure to finish seventh at the Olympics.

Today we will have six shooters in action - Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Deswal, Angad Bajwa, Mairaj Khan, Divyansh Panwar and Deepak Kumar.

Here's a highly nervous me kickstarting the day, hoping for a better performance from the Indian shooters.

Welcome to the Day 2 of our coverage of Shooting from the Tokyo Olympics. Stay back and enjoy the fast LIVE updates, from all the three events India will be competing in at the Asaka Shooting Range today.
