Despite producing a fine show of late comeback, Puneri Paltan failed to breeze past the fiery Dabang Delhi K.C., who in turn took the victory by a scoreline of 32-30 in a thrilling encounter on Saturday. Naveen Kumar and Chandran Ranjit were the standout performers for Delhi as the duo earned maximum points, helping their side extend their lead to six points at the top of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi season 7 standings. https://twitter.com/ProKabaddi/status/1160228120600993793
Chandran Ranjit opened the scoreboard in style with a successful two-point raid even as Nitin Tomar and skipper Surjeet Singh leveled the scores for Puneri Paltan. Dabang Delhi K.C. looked to forge a quick comeback in the contest once Naveen Kumar sent Surjeet to the bench. https://twitter.com/ProKabaddi/status/1160220938463522817 A point each from Ravinder Pahal and Naveen helped Dabang Delhi K.C. earn three points now but a two-point raid from Pankaj Mohite cut the deficit down to one. However, two successful raids on the trot split by a Vishal Mane tackle on Manjeet helped Dabang Delhi K.C. enforce the game’s first All-Out on Puneri Paltan and lead with six points. Naveen and Ranjit shone through, and for Puneri Paltan, it was Tomar, Manjeet, and Mohit who contributed the most. Naveen added two more points to his roster over the final few minutes of the half as the teams headed into the break with Dabang Delhi K.C. leading once more with 19 points. Puneri Paltan’s late rally falls just short as Dabang Delhi K.C. wins a thriller.
Puneri Paltan’s late rally falls just short as Dabang Delhi K.C. wins a thriller. It was all well for Puneri Paltan in the second half as Dabang Delhi K.C.’s lead was cut down by six points, but a couple of successful raids from the Ranjit ensured that his team maintained their lead. In what was now a nail-biting encounter in the last set, Puneri Paltan scored three points on the trot to get within a point of their opponent’s score with time left for just one more raid. Manjeet went in for the buzzer raid but accidentally stepped into the lobby, giving Dabang Delhi K.C. a technical point that confirmed their triumph.
