Wrestler Narsingh Yadav who was set to return to the international circuit after his four year ban due to doping, has been tested positive for the coronavirus. Along with Yadav, two more including Greco-Roman wrestler Gurpreet Singh and physiotherapist Vinod Rai have tested positive for the virus.

“All three are asymptomatic and have been moved to Sonepat'sBhagwanMahavir Das Hospital as a precautionary measure," the Sports Authority of India said in a statement.

The wrestlers had rejoined the national camp conducted by SAI in Sonepat after Diwali break and were under strict quarantine. A test was conducted on the 6th day of their quarantine as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which saw the three of them being tested positive.

This comes as a big blow to the Tokyo Olympics hopeful, Narsingh Yadav, who was supposed to participate in his first international event during the World Cup in Belgrade from December 12th to 18th.

This comes on the back of world number one shooter Divyansh Singh Panwar testing positive during last week. Earlier in September three senior wrestlers Deepak Punia, Navin Kumar and Krishnan were tested positive when they reported for the camp.
