As part of the Unlock, where government is slowly resuming services while pertaining to social distance and health safety norms, many gyms and yoga centers saw reopening. However, many cities like Mumbai and Delhi are yet to reopen gyms completely. This led to gym owners leading a protest outside Lt. Governor Anil Baijal’s home for a delay in decision making to reopen their gyms.

Owners cited that many states across the country have opened gyms and followed norms which did not see an increase in the number of coronavirus cases. Paras Gupta, Secretary of Gym Association in Delhi and Vice President of Gym Association in UP said, "The delay in decision making is only making the gym owners more restless since their only source of income has been shut down for months now. We understand the current scenario and are ready to open the gyms with complete precautions ensuring maximum safety and social distancing; this is needed to keep our business going. But this delay in the decision is just keeping us in dark and killing our hopes."

Though there has not been a response yet for gyms opening in many cities across the country, many gyms are opening that don’t come under containment zone. Since travel and many other services are operating with caution, gyms and health centers are likely to open by October and November when cases will have decreased.
