Watch: Nagar Rising Half Marathon 2020 — An adventure like no other

Over recent years, marathons have seen tremendous growth in participation across all Indian cities -- from smaller ones to the metros joining in to glorify the marathons' trend. Most often, running a marathon holds a prime spot on the wishlist for many with the growing consciousness about fitness and good health. Since its inception in 2015, the Maximus Nagar Rising Half Marathon has become revered as one of the toughest half-marathons in the country. With the sole vision to spread the fitness virus across all age-groups of the society, the sixth edition of the Nagar Rising Half Marathon was held on February 2 in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

In all its five years of existence, the Half Marathon has seen the keen participation of more than 15,000 marathoners who journey to the scenic city of Ahmednagar to run in support of World Cancer Day and spread the awareness about the life-threatening ailment. And ever since it started, the city of Ahmednagar has grown to be more aware and a change has come about in the citizens with them possessing a more positive and logical outlook towards life. Today, Ahmednagar has transformed into a healthier city with a budding sports culture.

With races conducted over four categories – 3K & 5K for kids, old age people, or beginners just to gain confidence on their own and the 10K and 21K for professional and practiced amateur runners, the marathon has proved to be a total game-changer in the city.

Running through one of the toughest yet scenic and beautiful routes, the event saw a huge turnaround with enthusiastic participants coming from various parts of India. Gathering on the one and the same platform which the Maximus Nagar Rising Half Marathon has provided, a new identity for the city has been forged. Keep running, folks!
