The young Assam sprinter has been sprinting towards success ever since. Hima has become an icon in her home state, Assam, ever since she became the first Indian sprinter to win a gold at a global athletics meet in July last year. Nicknamed as the Dhing Express, Hima has contributed to the Chief Minister's Relief Funds with reports suggesting that she has donated half of the salary she receives from the Indian Oil Corporation for Assam which has been reeling from the worst spell of floods in recent years.
