At the ripe age of 21, she had set herself up for a success that only a few have the luxury to achieve. Last year, the Manali girl grabbed many eyeballs when she clinched bronze in the coveted Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup. Aanchal Thakur went on to become the first Alpine skier from India to win an international medal in skiing. And it was enough for the 22-year-old to grab the much-needed limelight in the course of her career. There’s no obstacle course or route that Aanchal did not face. Despite the unparalleled difficulties that she has had to stumble upon, Aanchal continues to be seen as a milestone for women — both in a field dominated by men and in a society who believed women couldn’t do it, perhaps, the clear idea of what is delved deep into the two-minute promo of a film by Dr. Ms. Dev Kanya Thakur titled 'Breaking The Ice'. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/lByJQbjl0TY A competitive figure skater in her youth and an ice climber with numerous first ascents under her belt, Aanchal's journey has always been on the hard side.
By most accounts, she is always in high spirits."When you come down the mountains, the kind of sight your eyes catch, you cannot see that residing in a city," asserts Aanchal.
Let us hope the movie becomes a grand success and we are excited already.
