An unbeaten India takes on an unbeaten Netherlands in the first semifinal of the ongoing Junior Women's Hockey World Cup today. The girls in blue have been led admirably well by Olympian Salima Tete and have had new faces including the likes of Bichu Devi and Mumtaz Khan rise to the occasion during various point of time in the tournament.
India's best-ever finish at a Junior World Cup is the bronze medal winning effort in 2013 and a win today will all but ensure they better that. Can they deny the mighty Netherlands a place in the final?

The Dutch know they have this in the bag and they are happy to sit back and pass it amongst themselves. The Indians are pressing forward in a bid to put them under pressure, but they are not bothered.

END OF THIRD QUARTER!
That's the end of the third quarter and the Netherlands have managed to protect their 1-goal lead. The Indian defence has been impeccable today, but their possession rate seems to be falling with each passing minute.
The Dutch are yet to concede a single goal this World Cup so far and India have their task cut out for the final 15 minutes.

Salima Tete intercepts and creates a counter. She runs in all alone from the centre, but is crowded and gifts the ball away. The Indian captain had no one to pass the ball to.

She has been all around the park today for India is Lalremsiami. This time finds herself in the position of a centre back and intercepts a pass from the left flank very cleanly inside the circle.

The Dutch fail to trap the injection clearly and miss. They are awarded yet another PC and try a variation this time. Lalremsiami reads it perfectly to intercept before the shot is taken. A deflection goes towards a Dutch player who tries to slot it in from the left flank, but Bichu Devi blocks.
A lot of action there in span of 30 seconds but India emerge without any damage.
