The Indian women's hockey team registered a shock 2-1 win over the reigning Olympic champions Netherlands on Friday. Having taken a 2-0 lead at the halftime via Neha and Sonika, the Indians maintained their composure to pocket one of their biggest victories in recent times.
The Dutch women will certainly be wounded after the loss and are expected to come out hard today for the final leg. Will the Indians be able to complete a double?

The Dutch women penetrate from the left centre and tries to pass it in, thankfully for India there is no striker present in front of the goal and Savita-Sushila combine to clear it with ease.
This is getting tricky by the minute for India.

END OF THE THIRD QUARTER!
Navneet was in the middle of a dangerous run when the hooter went off and she hits the air with her stick in frustration. That could have worked out in India's favour, if they had at least 10 seconds more on the clock.
That was an action-packed quarter with India attacking with much more intent and getting their first shots on goal since the early first quarter. The Netherlands did manage to earn a PC of their own but failed to slot it past Savita. So, India maintain their 1-goal lead and we have a very interesting final quarter coming up.

That's the third quarter's water break in these extremely hot conditions and India have completely dominated the first seven and a half minutes of the quarter. They have indulged in a lot of short passes and that has posed troubles to the Dutch defence.

HALF TIME!
There goes the hooter and there has been no addition to the scoreboard after that 34th-second goal by Rajwinder Kaur. Netherlands are slowly getting into their rhythm and had the Indian defence under pressure for the past few minutes before the hooter, but the Indians have done well to ensure there was no damage done.
After starting in a very aggressive fashion the energy seemed to have dropped a bit in the Indian camp, and this is clearly something which they cannot afford.

Savita Punia has not really been required so far, but she is up to the task when needed. A powerful pass by the Dutch number 49 from the left flank and Savita decides to dive full length to push it away before the Netherland striker could even think of slotting it in.
