Highlights from India's clash against Japan at the 2025 Women's Hockey Asia Cup.

Women's Hockey Asia Cup Highlights: The Indian women's team were held to a 1-1 draw by Japan in what was their final Super 4s match at the 2025 Women's Hockey Asia Cup on Saturday.
Beauty Dung Dung scored early in the first quarter for India, but it was negated by a late fourth quarter goal by Japan's Shiho Kobayakawa.
The draw means that, India's future in the tournament is now dependent on the result between the final Super 4s match between China and South Korea.
If South Korea manages to win with a good goal difference, India will be forced into the third-place play-off. Else they'll play China in the final on Sunday.

40' - Nishikori copes a hard blow
Lalremsiami penetrates the circle from the right and as she looks to cross the ball to the centre, the Indian swings her stick wildly.
It hits Nishikori on her bicep and the Japanese No 19 is down on the field. Some medical assistance for Nishikori and she is being taken off in a stretcher.
This is not a sight you want to see ever in a playing field. Hopefully, she is okay.

39' - India lose a review
Lalremsiami sees an open space right down the centre of the pitch and her eyes lit up. A good run from the Indian and she takes the shot.
It beats the goalkeeper down to her right and India have scored. The celebrations begin.
But wait a minute...the umpire hasn't approved the goal. India ask for a review.
Well, well, well...replays show that Lalremsiami, in all that excitement with the open space, hasn't entered the circle before taking the shot.
The goal is, rightly, disallowed.

37' - Good stuff from Ishika
A foul just outside the shooting circle from India and Japan retakes it quickly. They try to penetrate the circle from the right but Ishika Chaudhary has it under control.
Steals the ball away with a clean block. Beautiful defence.

The Japanese players are happy to sit back deep. However, their coach isn't too happy. He signals them to press forward as much as they can to pressurise the Indian defence.

The drag flick is saved comfortably by Bichu Devi before the Indian defence does well to take the ball in their control and push it to a Japanese feet inside the circle to avert danger.
