WHIL: Delhi SG Pipers edges out Odisha Warriors in the shootout- Highlights

In the final leg of the Women's Hockey India League (WHIL) group stage, and the penultimate match, Odisha Warriors took on the Delhi SG Pipers, in Rachi on Thursday.
Odisha wanted an outright win to seal their spot in the final of the inaugural edition of the WHIL, with Bengal Tigers breathing down their neck.
Despite a disappointing tournament for Delhi, they ended the tournament on a high note with a shootout win.

Despite having more of the ball, Delhi are struggling to create meaningful chances.
There were a couple of half chances from Navneet Kaur in the first quarter, and a backhand from Charlotte Watson in the second quarter but that is it.

She went for an expansive backhand but the shot was well high.

Delhi should be aware of their lack of chance creation and of the danger Odisha possess.

The first quarter is at an end, it is 0-0 after the first 15!
In a quarter that was largely dominated by Delhi with the ball, they made little to no threat goalwards.
In fact, it was Odisha who produced the game's only save from Delhi keeper Bichu Devi.

Bichu Devi pulls off a wonderful save to keep the scoreline at 0-0!
Sakshi Rana puts in a wonderful ball right into the range of Michelle Fillet who hit the ball hard and low but Bichu Devi, Pipers' goalie comes out and makes a strong save!
Would have been a goal against the run of play, if not for Devi's save.

7' Navneet Kaur with a good ball in but no one there to apply the final touch

Delhi have shown more impetus in attack since the start, and Navneet Kaur, their captain, lets one with her backhands across the goal but it was a little too far for the attacker to tap it home.
Good signs shown from the Pipers.
