FIH Pro League: India women lose 1-2 vs China in 1st match - Highlights

The Indian women's hockey team in action for their final match of the season in FIH Pro League.
The Indian women's hockey team's bid to start the FIH Pro League on a winning note has been spoiled by China, who was too hard of an opponent for India. China defeated India 2-1 after coming back from a goal down at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Dan Wen and Gu Bingfeng scored the goals for China in the 40th and 52nd minutes. India, however, took the lead in the match when Vandana Katariya scored a goal in the 15th minute.
Wen troubled the Indian defence towards the end, forcing too many penalty corners for China. Bingfeng scored from a rebound in one of them. India has also suffered due to poor execution in the circle.
This was China's first win against India in the FIH Pro League. It took three points from this win and India was nil.

20' China nearly scores
Bichu Devi, who replaces Savita Punia in the goal, fails to make a clear save and the ball bounces towards the goal. Ishika Chaudhary rushes in to stop it. A Chinese player dives in but Udita sweeps the ball away.
China is now dominating the play.
Just a few seconds back, China earns a penalty corner, the first in the match. But the drag flick finds the first rusher Salima Tete. China asks for a referral. The ball deflects of Tete's ankle. China earns a PC, but the score remains unchanged.

2nd quarter begins
Brilliant save by Chinese goalkeeper Li Xinhuan. Salima Tete initiates an attack from the left flank. She tries to break into the box, but Chinese players crowd the place. The goalkeeper Xinhuan dives and clears the danger. India 1-0 China

India takes the lead in the match through a goal from Vandana Katariya. What a comeback she has made after an injury spree. She scored an important goal at the dead end of the first quarter. India 1-0 China.
