Highlights as Tamil Nadu Dragons beat Hyderabad Toofans in sudden death at the Hockey India League.

HIL Highlights: The Tamil Nadu Dragons climbed to the top of the 2024-25 Hockey India League points table with a 4-3 shootout win in sudden death against the Hyderabad Toofans on Thursday at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.
The teams were locked at 2-2 at the full time as Blake Govers and Jip Janssen found the net for the Dragons. Tim Brand had scored the first goal of the match when he put the Toofans ahead but they required a late 59th minute goal from Maico Casella to force a shootout.
The experienced David Harte emerged hero for the Dragons in the sudden death as they handed Toofans their first shootout lose.

FULL TIME
The Hyderabad Toofans register a late comeback and they force the Tamil Nadu Dragons into a penalty shoot-out. Blake Govers picks up a yellow card for the Dragons with 20 seconds left on the clock as well.
Second shoot-out in as many matches in the Hockey India League tonight. Remember, the Toofans are yet to lose a single shootout this season. Can the Dragons change that?

59' - TOOFANS EQUALISE!
Back to back penalty corners for the Hyderabad Toofans and they have finally scored level. The first two attempts were a mis-trap from de Sloover, but they still get another corner.
The third hits Amit Rohidas, the first rusher, before Maico Casella finally slots the ball in with the drag flick in the fourth attempt. TOOFANS EQUALISE!

Hyderabad Toofans with constant pressure and David Harte saves yet again for the Tamil Nadu Dragons. They just can't seem to go past Harte tonight, do the Toofans.

A good steal from Devindar Walmiki and he creates a counter attack for the Toofans. A good pass into the circle on the right from Walmiki from where it is squared in.
However, Tim Brand is not in the best of positions to tap that ball in. THAT WAS CLOSE!

A penalty corner for the Dragons and Blake Govers fires in a good drag flick. Bikramjit seems to have been beaten but that's until he puts his right hand out in the air to deflect it away.

The first drag flick from Gonzalo Peillat hits the first rusher Amit Rohidas. The second catches the foot of Anand Lakra before the third attempt is blocked by David Harte.
The Toofans take a shot off the rebound as well, but Arthur de Sloover puts it wide.

The Tamil Nadu Dragons took the lead in that quarter, thanks to Jip Janssen's drag flick. Later, David Harte protected that lead with his life as the Hyderabad Toofans searched desperately for an equaliser.
