HIL: Tamil Nadu Dragons beat Rarh Bengal Tigers to climb to top of table – Highlights

That's all we have from the clash between Tamil Nadu Dragons and Rarh Bengal Tigers in the Hockey India League tonight.

Amit Rohidas' and co have managed to steal away the top spot on the points table from the Tigers and they will sit there comfortably at least for the next couple of days. 

The Tigers, meanwhile, seem to have lost their way after a strong start. This is now their second loss in a row and they need to regroup quickly.

Amit Rohidas is Player of the Match

Tamil Nadu Dragons' captain Amit Rohidas is Player of the Match for his defending in the match.

"We are improving day by the day. We are taking it match by match," says Rohidas. "That is my duty [rushing]. I keep cool and calm and try to give best for the team."

There goes the hooter. The Tamil Nadu Dragons have won the match and go to the top of the table. Rarh Bengal Tigers, meanwhile, fall to their second successive loss. 

They had to play out of their skins do the Dragons and have managed to prevail. Some brilliant defending following the "park the bus" strategy, if I am to borrow a footballing term. Not to forget, the exceptional match Harte had in front of the goal for the Dragons.

Rupinderpal Singh missed a crucial penalty stroke for the Tigers and that surely came back to haunt them.

58' - Another yellow card for Dragons

The Tamil Nadu Dragons are yet to get Moritz back into the field after that yellow card and they have picked up another. So they are now down to just nine men.

The Rarh Bengal Tigers pull out their goalkeeper for an extra outfield player. So this is essentially a 9v11 for the Tigers for the next few moments before Moritz comes in.

58' - Another PC missed by Tigers

Yet another PC for Rarh Bengal Tigers and they try a variation once again. They want to pass the ball back to the injector, but a Dragons' defender intercepts and creates a counter attacker of their own.

Before the counter attack takes transforms into anything dangerous, the play is stopped. The Tigers ask for a back stick inside the circle during the penalty corner routine.

They are proven wrong and they lose the review. Think that was a smart review from the Tigers just to break that counter attack and nothing else.

54' - Another save from Harte!

The Rarh Bengal Tigers earn a penalty corner yet again and this time they try a variation. A couple of passes in the routine before they take the  shot, but it is not enough to trouble David Harte.

The Irish goalie saves and the rebound is pounced on by a Dragons' defender. Tigers' search for an equaliser continues...

54' - YELLOW CARD, MORITZ!

Ludwig Moritz picks up an unnecessary yellow card for the Tamil Nadu Dragons and they will now be a man down for five minutes. How costly will this prove to be?

52' - Tigers miss PC!

Rupinderpal Singh with the drag flick this time and he puts it wide. They cannot afford this, do the Tigers. Time running out and they are still a goal behind.

52' - SAVE, HARTE!

A good steal from Sukhjeet Singh and he goes on a solo run for the Tigers. David Harte comes down from his position and dives to tackle Sukhjeet down.

That was clean from Harte, but the Tigers are handed a PC for a defender's foot inside the circle after that.
