FIH Women's World Cup Qualifiers Final Highlights: Having already secured their spots in the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup, India and England will faced-off for the bragging rights in the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup Qualifiers Final in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The hosts ended up on the wrong side of the result, falling to a 0-2 loss.
Salima Tete and co wanted to play attacking hockey and they did exactly that posing constant questions to the English defence. But they just couldn't break through – its an area that Sjored Marijne will have to get some improvements in over the next few months.
Elizabeth Neal and Grace Balsdon scored for England as they took the gold medal.

34' - Amy Thompson is bleeding
Lalremsiami receives a one-touch pass and as she tries to trap it, the ball deflects into the face of Amy Thompson.
Thompson is on the field and bleeding. It looks like she coped the blow on her nose. Not too clear from this angle.
She requires medical attention on field, before the medics take her away. Thankfully, she is able to walk off.
Lalremsiami looked extremely concerned there and she stood there asking if they needed help until the medics reached.

India on the charge almost immediately. They attack from the left and Navneet with a good cross into the circle. But the two Indians present in the circle are overwhelmed by the English defence.

HALF TIME!
England head into the half-time with a one-goal advantage.
India started well. They were on the attack constantly, but just couldn't get the ball into the net.
England settled into the rhythm and scored off a dragflick late in the first quarter.
India's intensity did drop thereafter in the second quarter, but they did create a few chances. They weren't completely subdued, but haven't really been able to break the England defence and Pritchard at the goal.

26' - Baljeet hits straight to goalkeeper
It was a counter? Or was it an interception? We won't know as the camera pans to the VIPs present in the stadium.
As we get back to the action, India have a chance all of a sudden. Lalremsiami is on the left flank. There's an defender marking her.
But the circle is empty. No defender, no Indian forward.
Siami manages to outfox her marker and crosses the ball to a rushing Baljeet. By the time Baljeet reaches there, there are a couple of defenders closing in as well.
Baljeet has no option but to take a shot. It's hit straight to the goalkeeper.

Neha and Annu combine to earn a penalty corner for India. Can they score?
Nope, they can't. Annu with the drag flick and its hit straight to England goalie, Miriam Pritchard.
Lalremsiami tries to pounce on the rebound, but she instead lifts the ball high. That's called dangerous.

20' - England lose a challenge
Anna Toman with the drag flicking duties from the second battery. The ball takes a deflection of Indian skipper and first rusher Salima Tete, before going into the net.
The goal isn't given as the umpire feels the ball was dangerously lifted in the circle.
England challenge the decision and are proven wrong. They lose their challenge. India prevail.
