Gymnast Dipa Karmakar donates Rs 30,000 in fight against coronavirus

The gymnast from Agartala, Tripura donated Rs 30,000 to the Tripura Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Dipa said she has come forward to do so from social responsibility.

Dipa, who placed fourth in the vault event at the Rio Olympic Games 2016, had earlier said her goal was to win gold in Tokyo. But she lags far behind in qualifying for Tokyo owing to injuries. However, due to the coronavirus, Tokyo Games got postponed which has given her a new hope. She will have more time to prepare and qualify.
