It wasn't exactly the start Shanmugam Venkatesh would have wanted for his boys after their SAFF U-20 Championship 2022 opener against Bangladesh. The boys in green came out with a 2-1 victory.
It was Piash Nova's brace that secured Bangladesh's second win in the tournament. India's Gurkirat Singh did manage to level the score with a brilliant header but Nova drilled in a penalty right at the stroke of half time.
The Indian team will play their second match on the 29th of July against Sri Lanka.
