SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship 2025 Highlights: A commanding performance from the Indian women's football team sees them start their campaign with a 5-0 win against Nepal at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan, on Wednesday.
Abhista Basnett (16', 41'), Nira Chanu Longjam (25', 56'), Anushka Kumari (33', 62'), Julan Nongmaithem (45+1) scored for India.
India will next play Bangladesh on August 22 and hosts Bhutan on August 24.

A few minutes later, Nepal launched a strong counterattack. A back pass from Indian defender was intercepted brilliantly by a Nepalese forward, who carried the ball forward and fired a shot straight at Indian goalkeeper Munni.
It was Nepal's best chance of the match so far. Munni was down after the save. The rebound fell kindly for Nepal, and they had another go. But this time aiming for the left post. The the shot drifted wide!

Anushka Kumari delivered a neat pass from the right wing, but Nira Longjam’s shot lacked power. It was a missed opportunity.
Indian forwards build momentum again this time Nira passed from the left and Anushka got one-on-one with Nepal's goalkeeper. Both attempts were futile.
