India couldn’t have asked for a better start to their AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers campaign, producing a record-shattering 13-0 win over Mongolia at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Chiang Mai.

Pyari Xaxa was the undisputed star of the evening, netting five goals and delivering multiple assists in a performance full of flair and composure. Soumya Guguloth added two goals and several key contributions, while Priyadharshini Selladurai scored a brace of her own with two clinical finishes from outside the box. There were also goals for Sangita Basfore, Rimpa Haldar, Malavika, and Grace Dangmei, whose composed penalty completed the rout.

From the opening whistle, India dominated proceedings — sharp in the press, fluid in midfield, and ruthless in front of goal. The Blue Tigresses gave Mongolia no room to breathe, barely letting them into India's half and making a strong statement of intent in Group B.

Next up, Timor Leste on June 29 — and the Tigresses will go in brimming with confidence.

53' GOAL! Pyari Xaxa Scores Her Fourth

Pyari Xaxa is on fire in Chiang Mai! She nets her fourth goal of the match, showcasing brilliant movement and composure as India continue their relentless charge.

The goal came from a precise long ball by Rimpa Haldar from deep on the left. Pyari timed her run perfectly, darting in behind the Mongolian backline, reading the delivery with razor-sharp awareness.

She controlled it with her first touch and calmly slotted it past the onrushing keeper, who was again caught in no-man’s land. A clinical finish and India now lead 6-0 — this is turning into a statement performance from the Blue Tigresses.

45' GOAL! Pyari Xaxa Completes Her Hat-Trick!

What a restart! It takes just seconds for India to find the back of the net again — and it’s Pyari Xaxa with her third of the night, completing a sensational hat-trick.

The move began with Soumya Guguloth pulling the strings once more, slipping the ball wide to Grace Dangmei on the right. Grace delivered a sharp cross into the box, where Pyari met it with a well-controlled half-volley.

The Mongolian goalkeeper, Zambaga Tumurbat, was caught out of position and couldn’t react in time as the ball zipped past her into the net. It’s now India 5–0 Mongolia, and the Blue Tigresses are showing no signs of slowing down!

    Half-Time: India 4–0 Mongolia!

A dominant first-half display from the Blue Tigresses sees them head into the break with a commanding 4-0 lead over Mongolia at the 700th Anniversary Stadium.

Goals from Sangita Basfore, Soumya Guguloth, and a brace from Pyari Xaxa have put India firmly in the driver's seat. The front three have been electric, the midfield composed, and the defense barely troubled.

Mongolia have struggled to get out of their own half, while India’s fluid 4-3-3 has overwhelmed them from the first whistle. Crispin Chettri will be pleased — but you can bet he'll be urging his side to stay sharp and keep the intensity high in the second half.

45' GOAL! Pyari Xaxa scores a screamer!

What a thunderous strike from Pyari Xaxa! The Indian forward is on fire tonight. Receiving the ball from a sharp pass by Grace Dangmei at the edge of the final third, Pyari took a quick touch to steady herself and unleashed a long-range rocket toward goal.

Mongolia’s keeper Zambaga Tumurbat stretched at full length, fingertips grazing the ball — but the power was simply too much. The shot smashed into the net, leaving the crossbar trembling. A stunning finish and India now lead 4-0 with style and swagger.

    36' India in full control!

With 36 minutes gone, it's been one-way traffic in Chiang Mai. India have completely dominated possession, pinning Mongolia deep in their own half and dictating the tempo with confidence. The front three continue to probe, while the midfield trio led by Sangita Basfore are pulling the strings with ease.

India's backline, marshalled by Sweety Devi Nganbam (No. 2) and Shilky Devi Hemam (No. 4), has had little to do so far, with Elangbam Panthoi (No. 1) virtually untested in goal.

Interestingly, Thailand’s head coach is spotted in the gallery, observing India, their final Group B opponent.

29' GOAL! Pyari Xaxa Makes It Three for India!

It’s raining goals in Chiang Mai! India extends their lead to 3-0, and once again, it's Soumya Guguloth (No. 17) at it. This time, she made a bursting run down the left wing.

Spotting the run of Pyari Xaxa (No. 10), Soumya delivered a precise low cross into the box. Pyari didn’t hesitate — she met it with a clean, powerful strike that flew past the Mongolian keeper Zambaga Tumurbat. Clinical finish, smooth buildup — the Blue Tigresses are roaring now!

20' GOAL! Soumya Doubles India's Lead in Style!

Soumya Guguloth (No. 17) gets the goal her performance has deserved! After creating chances for others, she now finishes off a brilliant move herself. Making a darting run into the box from the right flank, Soumya timed it perfectly to meet a lofted cross that hung invitingly in the air with a stunning volley.

With defenders closing in, she struck it first-time on the half-volley — a thunderous finish that crashed off the underside of the bar before nestling into the net. A stunning goal and India now lead 2-0. The Blue Tigresses are in full flow!

16' Mongolia Keeper Called Into Action Again!

India continues to look sharp in the final third. This time, Pyari Xaxa made a clever run down the left, cutting inside the box with intent. Surrounded by blue shirts and with no clear sight at goal, she showed composure to turn and lay it off to Ratanbala Devi Nongm (No. 7) just outside the area.

Ratanbala took a quick low shot aiming for the bottom corner, but Zambaga Tumurbat in the Mongolian goal was well-positioned to collect it cleanly. India are linking up nicely — the second goal looks like it's coming.

11' India Keep the Pressure On!

India continues to dominate proceedings, this time earning a corner that nearly doubles their lead. The delivery was initially cleared but only as far as the edge of the box, where Soumya Guguloth was waiting.

She took it on the bounce and let fly with a right-footed strike from outside the area — it had power but not the precision, sailing just over the bar.

8' GOAL! India Takes the Lead in Chiang Mai!

India strikes first! A beautifully worked move sees the breakthrough in style. Soumya Guguloth whipped in a pinpoint cross from the left flank after beating her marker with a clever touch.

Timing her run perfectly into the box, Sangita Basfore (No. 6) rose above her defender and met it with a thumping header that rocketed into the top right corner of the net — no chance for Zambaga Tumurbat to stop that one.

A dream start for the Blue Tigresses, 1-0 India!
