I-League 2019-20: Sunil Chhetri buys 200+ tickets for Gokulam Kerala vs Churchill Brothers game; know why

A day ago, Gokulam Kerala FC had announced that they will donate the revenue of the ticket sale from their next I-League match against Churchill Brothers to the family of late footballer Dhanarajan Radhakrishnan. To ensure maximum revenue, they also decided against printing complimentary passes.
Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri has joined the cause by buying 220 tickets for the game. The gallery tickets are priced just Rs 50 while VIP tickets are priced at Rs 100.

Gokulam Kerala thanked the Indian captain on Twitter for the
kind gesture. “We are grateful to @chetrisunil11,
who bought 220 tickets for our next match against @Churchill_Goa. The club will be
handing the tickets to the NGOs. Thank you Captain, your contribution to Indian
football on and off the field is unmatched.
Former captain Inivalappil Mani Vijayan has also bought
tickets for the game. Gokulam’s twitter handle thanked him as well.
Dhanarajan died due to cardiac arrest on 29th
December last year while playing in an All-India Sevens tournament at
Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district of Kerala. He collapsed after suffering chest
pain.
“We have decided to help the family of Dhanarajan by giving
all the match-day revenue from the ticket sales to his wife. We have already
invited the family for the match. The club would like to help them and show
respect to the footballer,” said Gokulam Gopalan, the chairman of Gokulam
Kerala FC to ANI.
“His death was really a shocker for the football fraternity
in the country. We know several people have decided to help his family. We also
wanted to contribute and as a football club we feel it as our responsibility to
do so,” he said.
