In a move that will be welcomed by football fans and enthusiasts, Google removed the default search for Indian football keywords from navigating to men's football.

A toggle has been added on the search window that will help fans to switch between men's and women's football sections, making it easier to switch to what exactly they are searching for.

With the increasing growth of women's football in India and around the world, many leading clubs have their women's teams in the same name as the men's.

When fans type in the club's name, Google by default shows the men's team and their schedule and matches.

For someone to search for a specific women's football match of these teams, they also have to mention the competition or add the keyword 'women' for Google to show the women's team and its matches.

Now, Google has removed the default search from going to the men's team and has added two toggles allowing fans to switch with just a click of the button.

They do not require additional keywords, and can just type in the club's name.

While the move as such might not be much, it is indeed a step in the right direction towards recognizing women's football in equal measure as the men's version.

With more and more eyes turning towards women's football, this move comes at the right time and it will be received warmly by the footballing community.
