East Bengal start their 2022 Durand Cup campaign today against a decent Indian Navy outfit. While this would be the campaign opener for the Red and Gold Brigade, it would be the second of campaign for their opponents, who lost to Mumbai City FC in their first encounter.

46' - Indian Navy on the charge
A sudden burst of energy from Indian Navy as they press forward early on in the second half, but East Bengal have everything under control.

This has been very well balanced so far. Not a lot of chances created, with both teams cancelling out each others' advances rather easily. Nothing on the scoreboard so far and there's a lot to play for in the final 45 minutes.

Kamaljeet once again with a save for East Bengal. Not the best of shots from Pintu Mahata, who took his own sweet time before shooting, but it required a good effort from Kamaljeet nonetheless to stop that from going in.

Neither team seems to be in worry of anything. Both happy with sitting back and playing the ball amongst themselves whenever they have the possession.

A nicely taken corner from Indian Navy. They have the East Bengal defence opened up, but the men in the box fail to take toll.

A good run down the right from Amarjit and an equally good pass, but the striker fails to shoot it inside the net. Went for a single touch and that was simply very bad from the East Bengal striker.

15' - Good stuff from Kamaljeet
A nice little move created from the right flank by Indian Navy, but the cross is a bit too ambitious. East Bengal goalkeeper Kamaljeet charges down, leaps and collects that ball with ease.

8' - Good Defence from Indian Navy
Not so good goalkeeping from Indian Navy, but their defence is tight. A freekick for East Bengal and the goalkeeper charges down to collect. He fails miserably and the ball seemed to be going in, but the defender clears it just in nick of time. THAT WAS CLOSE!

3' - Bicycle attempt from Mobashir!
A good cross from the left flank by East Bengal and Mobashir goes for a bicycle kick. Fails to get a proper connection, but recovers quickly before the ball finds him again from the right flank.
This time his shot is saved with ease by the Indian Navy goalkeeper.
