AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers Highlights: India started their 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers final round matches with a goalless draw against Bangladesh at their home turf in Shillong on Tuesday.
Both teams had their chances but neither were clinical enough in front of the goal. Even Sunil Chhetri had a chance go begging late in the match before he was pulled off.
Vishal Kaith had a rough introduction to the rigours of international football, though thankfully none of it proved costly.
Coach Manolo Marquez was raging during the post-match interview with the broadcasters. He has a lot of work to do.

55' - Another good play on the left
Another good move on the left flank from India. That's where they have had their best show so far. Liston Colaco, once again, with the cross into the circle but it is a bit overhit.
Sunil Chhetri does manage to lose his marker inside the box but has to leap high to get a touch. He doesn't get the touch and ball runs away.

54' - A sedate start
This is a very sedate start to the second half, unlike the start of the match. Both teams happy to bide their time. India looking to be more solid defensively and not pressing high.
Bangladesh too following the suit. Hamza Choudhury has fallen back, almost to the defensive line.

HALF TIME!
There goes the whistle. Its half-time in Shillong. 45 minutes in and the scorers haven't been troubled.
Bangladesh started off in a fiery fashion. They dominated the first 20 minutes as India took time to settle in. Hamza Choudhury combined well with his teammates to create chances but their forwards weren't clinical inside the box.
India's Vishal Kaith was generous as well with two massive blunders, but Bangladesh couldn't take advantage.
The hosts grew in confidence post the 20-minute mark and created chances. They started to press high and the wings opened up. Liston Colaco, in particular, on the left has been a menace to deal with for Bangladesh.
Despite all that, the deadlock remains.

41' - SAVE, VISHAL!
Sandesh Jhingan is pressed high and he loses an aerial duel to have control on the ball. It completely opens up the Indian defence with the likes of Rahul Bheke and Subhashish Bose all back tracking.
Vishal Kaith, however, does well to cut down the angle towards his left and avert the danger.

41' - Liston causing all the troubles for Bangladesh
Liston Colaco is causing all the troubles from the left tonight for Bangladesh. A good corner taken from the No 7 and it seemed to be going in directly into the goal, but hits the bar and runs away.
He is in some form tonight is Colaco.

35' - Liston goes off target
A brilliant clearance from Apuia inside the box creates a counter attack for India, with the ball finding Liston Colaco on the left flank.
Sunil Chhetri runs alongside Colaco right down the centre but he is pushed down to the ground. Colaco has complete control of the ball but he was being surrounded.
With his only teammate in Chhetri down on ground, he has no option but to take a shot from way outside the box. It goes wide.
