American video game company Electronic Arts (EA) has decided to add the Indian Super League (ISL) to the array of leagues in their mobile version.
The Bridge can confirm that EA has signed a deal with the ISL which will see the league becoming a part of EA’s annual flagship game FIFA. EA will have all legal rights of the league including the club crests, realistic player models and stadiums. In exchange, the ISL will get monetary benefits.
For the upcoming edition of FIFA, the league will feature in the mobile version of the game. This means that all Indian gamers and fans of Indian football can play with their favourite ISL franchise in the soon to be released FIFA 20 mobile version.
The Bridge can further confirm that talks are already ongoing about the league’s inclusion in the PC and console versions from next year, i.e. FIFA 21. Should the ISL garner enough attention in the mobile version of FIFA 20, it will, in all likelihood, find a place in the PC and console versions in FIFA 21.
With the inclusion of the league, EA will expect FIFA to take off in the Indian market. The game is quite popular in the country but the ISL’s inclusion brings a whole new level of excitement with it.
This comes as a huge news for all Indian football fans and it is sure to create a frenzy. EA Sports FIFA 20, powered by VOLTA, is set to come with new improved features in gameplay. The game will be releasing on 24th September, 2019, and already the hype is so high that fans cannot wait for the date to come.
Previously, the Indian national team was included to the FIFA international teams roster by EA in the FIFA 13 edition. It was a pleasant surprise for all Indian fans and ever since, football has experienced a massive growth in the country.
