Railway Police Chief Sylendra Babu pedals 600 km to promote cycling
C. Sylendra Babu, the chief of Tamil Nadu Railway Police, on Monday finished a 600km journey on a cycle to promote and spread awareness about cycling amongst the youth of the country.
A cycling enthusiast, Sylendra Babu started his journey with four other cyclists from the city of Chennai on Friday and reached Rameswaram Monday, covering a total of 600kms.

After finishing the journey Sylendra Babu tweeted, “We cycled up to Danushkodi. The dream must be big, the effort should be even bigger.”
The officer said that they decided to take this journey to give out a message that it is essential for every Indian to stay both physically and mentally fit. “We started this journey as a sport to emphasize that it is essential for every Indian to be physically and mentally fit and healthy,” he said.
Sylendra Babu maintained that cycling not only helps in controlling pollution but is also a great exercise, sport and appealed to the citizens of the country to use cycles for daily
commuting.
