The first Indian batter to hit a hundred in the Women's World Cup is former opener Thirush Kamini. She achieved the feat against West Indies at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium in the inaugural match of the 2013.

What made Kamini's feat special was that this was her first international appearance for India in nearly three years. Her previous appearance for India was back in February 2010.

India were off to a cautious start, but then Kamini gelled well with Panum Raut as the two openers engineered an opening stand of 175 runs. The partnership was another record in the making. It was the highest opening partnership by an Indian pair against a non-associate cricketing nation.

Kamini's hundred came in 146 deliveries and comprised of 11 boundaries and one hit that went over the fence. Raut's innings of 72 and Kamini's ton helped India pile a strong total of 284/6.

Indian bowlers did the rest as India registered a comfortable win.

What made Kamini's innings all the more special was that it was her maiden ODI hundred.
