According to a report in the Times of India, no foreign training will be conducted for athletes till end the of this year due to ongoing danger of coronavirus.

The sports authorities have decided that the athletes who qualified for the Olympics or are yet to make the cut will not be allowed to train in a foreign countries till the end of the year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

It has been that after the lockdown is lifted, the athletes can use this opportunity to train within the country keeping their health and safety as the top priority. They can, in the meanwhile, train at the national camps which will be resumed after the situation is normal.

The decision came after considering the stands of the representatives of the National sports Federation and the top level officials from the Indian Olympic Committee. They did a meeting through video conferencing on Wednesday which was attended by Target Olympic Podium Scheme CEO, Cdr Rajesh Rajagopalan as a representative on behalf of the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
