India had its most successful day at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, as the Indian contingent added six medals to its tally on Monday.
Sunday belonged to India's weightlifters. Mirabai Chanu scripted history by clinching her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal in the women's 48kg event.
On Monday, the Indian weightlifters continued their performance, winning three more medals; Gyaneshwari Yadav (53 Kg) and Ajaya Babu Valluri (79 Kg) won silver medals.
On the other hand, Bindyarani Devi (58kg) bagged a bronze medal. India also opened its medal tally in athletics, with Sarvesh Kushare winning India's first-ever high jump silver medal.
In Para athletics, Sharmila and Shilpa Shyla delivered a double podium finish for India in the women’s Shot Put F57 event, winning gold and bronze respectively

Bowls, Men's Singles, India vs Kenya: Another bowl in the ditch.
The end started with Hamada in control, with most of his bowls finishing close to the jack. However, Putul changed the game with his final bowl, sending the jack into the ditch and turning the end in his favour. He picked up another point to increase his lead to 3-0.

Boxing, Women's 51kg: Sakshi Chaudhary WINSS!
Sakshi Chaudhary has smartly taken the back seat. She is letting the Botswanan do all the work before eventually cashing in.
Mondukanele looks no match to the physically superior Sakshi.
And there's the inevitable. Sakshi takes an unanimous 5-0 win.
She is through to the quarter-finals, just a win away from a medal!

Bowls, Men's Singles, India vs Kenya: Putul takes a two-point lead.
Set 2 was very important for Putul to stay alive in the match. He started well by picking up one point in End 1 and followed it up with another point in End 2 to take a 2-0 lead after the first two ends.

End 7 was an interesting one. For the first time in any of Putul's matches, the bowl went into the ditch, making the game even trickier to play. However, Hamada handled the situation well and picked up one more point to take a two-point lead and win the set.
