India heads into Day 4 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 looking to build on Jhandu Kumar's bronze medal, with several medal hopefuls in action across weightlifting, boxing, bowls, gymnastics and swimming.
The spotlight was on Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu, who bagged her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal. Meanwhile, Rishikanta Singh and Raja Muthupandi bagged silver medals in their respective weight categories.
Elsewhere, boxers Preeti Pawar and Jadumani Singh reached the quarterfinals, while Aditya Pratap Yadav lost out in the round of pre-quarterfinals.
On the other hand, Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh had two bowls matches. Putul Sonowal, Tapan Mohanty, and the Indian men's swimming relay team were also in action.

Boxing: Men's 65Kg Round of 16: Aditya Pratap lose the second round 2-3
The young Indian continues his tactics of counterplay, but the Ugandan boxer came out all guns blazing and pushed Aditya to the corners and found some clear punches.
This forced the referee to give a standing count against Aditya, and the Judges give the round to the Ugandan.

Boxing, Men's 65 Kg Round of 16: Aditya Pratap Yadav takes the first round 5-0
Aditya Pratap Yadav starts the match aggressively with a clear right jab in the first 30 seconds, but then he takes a defensive approach and plays on the counterattack against an open guard of Nuhu Batte of Uganda.
Judges loved his work and awarded him the round with 10-9 on all five cards.

Weightlifting, Men's 65kg: Another unsuccessful lift for Raja Muthupandi
Raja Muthupandi fails to lift his final attempt. He was going for a 129kg, but it was too heavy.
With a best of 126kg, he remains in the second position at the end of snatch.

Boxing, Men's 55Kg Round of 16: Jadumani Singh beats Pakistan's Sumama Rehman
Jadumani Singh rattled his Pakistani opponent with his traditional aggressive footwork and combination of punches. He also tried to keep a close distance, as Sumana had a height advantage, so the Indian wanted to keep him out of his reach.
In the first round, the judges narrowly awarded the round to the Indian boxer by a 3-2 split decision. But in the second round, Jadumani further increased the pressure.
This resulted in the first standing count for the Pakistani boxer from the referee, and the judges agreed with him and gave Jadu a 5-0 win in the second round.
In the end, Jadumani won the match on a unanimous decision, claiming his second consecutive win in Glasgow and is now just one win away from a maiden medal.

He goes into the lead for now, but Malaysia's Anzil Muhamad is slated to start at 130kg.

What an explosive opening round! The crowd erupting after every clean punch that landed. The atmosphere inside the arena was electric as both boxers came out firing, refusing to take a step back. It was an action-packed three minutes, with relentless exchanges keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. The judges narrowly awarded the round to the Indian boxer by a 3-2 split decision, but it was clear from the outset that this was going to be a fiercely contested bout.

Looks like Raja Muthupandhi has updated his snatch starting lift to 126kg. Means, more waiting to watch the Indian in action.
So far, the highest lift has been 122kg by the Nigerian Favour Agboro.
