India looked to build on Jhandu Kumar's bronze medal, which opened the country's account at the Commonwealth Games 2026, as the action shifted to Day 3 in Glasgow.
The day saw Indian athletes compete across bowls, boxing, swimming, artistic gymnastics and 3x3 women's wheelchair basketball.
Boxer Sachin Siwach began his campaign in the men's 55kg round of 32, while Aryan Nehra and Dhakshan Shashikumar competed in the men's 400m freestyle heats. India's women's artistic gymnastics team also competed in the evening session.
India also continued its group stage action in lawn bowls, with Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh facing Tonga in the women's pairs, while Putul Sonowal took on Malaysia in the men's singles.

Bowls Women's Pairs, Section B, India vs Tonga : Tonga lead by four points !!
Tonga continued their dominance in End 2, giving India no opportunity to score. They picked up another point to extend their lead to 4-0 in Set 2.

Bowls Women's Pairs, Section B, India vs Tonga : Tonga take the lead in Set 2.
In End 1 of Set 2, India made a strong start with their bowls finishing closest to the jack. However, Tonga turned the end in their favour and maintained the advantage until the end, picking up three points to take a 3-0 lead after End 1 of Set 2.

Bowls Women's Pairs, Section B, India vs Tonga: India wins the first set !!!
Rupa Rani showed her experience with her first three bowls, using her skill to keep the jack close to India's bowls. However, Tonga turned the end around with their next two bowls, placing their bowls alongside India's near the jack. It was then up to Pinki Singh to try and regain the advantage for India, but she was unable to do so. With Tonga's bowl finishing closest to the jack, they picked up one point. Despite that, India won Set 1 with a score of 5-2.

Boxing, Men's 60kg: Sachin Siwach's SCORECARD
Sachin Siwach takes the Round of 32 bout against Keoma Al-Ahmadieh 4-1 by a split decision.
That was a close shave for Sachin, with only one judge scoring him ten in all three rounds.
He'll have to be much more clinical when he returns for the pre-quarters.

Sachin can't afford to breathe easy here. Al-Ahmadieh can still turn this bout around in his favour.
The Canadian is on the offense again. Sachin dodges a few before he starts to land his own cleanly more than a minute into the third round.
As we enter the final 30s of the bout, both pugilists look tired. The intensity has dropped suddenly. A rather calm end.

It is Sachin Siwach! The Indian gets the nod via a split decision.

Bowls Women's Pairs, Section B, India vs Tonga: India takes a massive four-point lead !!
End 4 started strongly for India, but Tonga turned the game around with their third bowl, placing two bowls close to the jack. Pinki Singh responded with another excellent bowl, moving the jack closer to India's bowls. Tonga tried to recover but could not turn the end in their favour. India picked up two more points to extend their lead to 5-1.

Boxing, Men's 60kg: Sachin Siwach takes Round 2 by split decision
Al-Ahmadieh comes out all guns blazing in the second round. Early aggression but Sachin is handling it well.
The Canadian throwing all the combinations that he can. The Indian remains calm.
Is Sachin going into a defensive shell? Can he afford to?
He does well to land a few shots in the fag end, does Sachin. But will that be enough?
It is just enough. Another split verdict in Sachin's favour.

In End 3, India continued to pick up points, with Pinki Singh's final bowl earning the team another point. At the end of End 3, India led 3-1.

Boxing, Men's 60kg R32: Sachin takes the first round 3-2
Both boxers happy to bide their time in the first 30s but it is Sachin, who is looking to go on the offense.
Al-Ahmadieh is dodging his attempts decently so far, before landing a couple himself on the counter.
Sachin is calm as he looks to settle into the rhythm. He's landed a few blows as well.
