Boxing, Women's 57kg Final: Jaismine wins Round 2
A similar script in the early phase of second round. Walsh is letting Jaismine come in and relying on the counter herself.
Jaismine is barely taking the bait this time around and is extremely cautious about her stance even as she goes in.
Walsh is running around the ring. The Northern Ireland boxer might be playing this into the hands of the Indian, I think.
Walsh looks to attack now, but is sent back with a crisp punch to the face by Jaismine.
Much like the first round, this was a strategic battle. Both happy to hang back.
Jaismine wins round 2 unanimously. She has the advantage heading into the final round!

Boxing, Women's 57kg Final: Jaismine wins Round 1 on split
The battle is underway. Walsh runs into Jaismine, but it is the Indian jabbing and the Northern Ireland boxer blocking with her gloves.
Jaismine itching to play on the front foot, while Walsh is happy to be on the counter. There's not a lot of punches thrown even after a minute. This is a cagey, cautious contest.
Walsh is forcing Jaismine to come forward and relying on counter. The Indian has been quick to evade those counter punches, before Walsh immediately lands one cleanly.
Walsh is now running around the ring. As the clock winds down, your guess is as good as mine on who gets this. That was slowwwwww...
Where are my punches!?
Jaismine wins that round 3-2 on split.

The Canadian coaches want Delgado to attack Preeti more on the body. Will it prove useful to overturn the defecit she has?
Again early punches landed from the Canadian as Preeti is cornered. But the Indian is hitting back.
A minute-and-a-half left and Delgado has been pretty handy this round, taking down any breathing space the Indian had. Preeti needs to hold on.
Has the Preeti Pawar done enough to cling onto the gold medal?
She has. Preeti wins GOLD at 2026 Commonwealth Games! It is India's first in boxing this edition.

Boxing, Women's 54kg Final: Preeti Pawar wins Round 2
Same early offensive play from Delgado, but Preeti has it all in control.
Preeti's punches have been accurate as she goes on the front foot with rarely any misses. Straight, solid punches from the Indian.
Delgado is getting desperate now as Preeti controls the second round even more immaculately with just 45s left in the round.
Delgado is given her first standing count warning of the bout!
Preeti wins Round 2 unanimously! She is on course to win India's first boxing gold.
