India built on its strong start to the Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign with another medal-packed day in Glasgow, with three medals on Wednesday.
Murali Sreeshankar opened the tally on the day, winning the silver medal in men's long jump with a leap of 8.09m. Minutes later, Dilip Gavit and Mohammed Basil followed in men's 100m T47, completing a double podium for India.
Elsewhere, it was heartbreak for Manpreet Kaur (Shot Put) and Suyash Jadhav (Para Swimming) as they ended up in fourth place in their respective events.
In boxing, six pugilists booked their spots in the semi-finals, confirming medals for India in Glasgow, while in athletics, national record holder Animesh Kujur qualified for the 200m semi-finals.
In weightlifting, India had only one medal event, but the teenager Sanjana couldn't find a valid lift in 77 kg snatch and bowed out of the competition early.

Men's Pairs, Section B, India vs Namibia: Namibia takes a three-point lead.
End 2 did not go in India’s favour, as they could not make the most of their chances of get their bowls close to the jack. Namibia took advantage of the opportunity, getting their bowls closer to the jack and earning two points to extend their lead to 3-0.

End 1 of Set 1 was completely dominated by India, with them getting all their bowls close to the jack. However, the game changed with the final bowl as Namibia took the end and earned one point to take an early lead in the match.

India's Narender Berwal booked his place in the men's +90kg semi-finals with a 3-2 split decision victory over Michael Seko of Samoa in the quarter-finals.
The Indian heavyweight won a closely contested bout, prevailing on the judges' scorecards to seal his place in the last four. With the victory, Berwal has guaranteed India at least a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

India's Narender Berwal made a positive start to his men's +90kg quarter-final, taking the opening round 4-1 by split decision against Michael Seko of Samoa.

Boxing: Ankush dominates Round 2!
India's Ankush extended his lead in the men's 80kg quarter-final, taking Round 2 against Jade Micock of Seychelles by 5-0.
Ankush has now won both opening rounds unanimously, putting himself firmly in control of the bout. He heads into the final round just three minutes away from a place in the semi-finals and a guaranteed Commonwealth Games medal.

Boxing, Men's 60kg: Sachin Siwach books semi-final spot!
Sachin Siwach is in complete control now. He just needs to ensure that he doesn't go into a defensive shell.
It has been very tactical from the Indian so far, and it is no different in the final round.
Sachin is calm and composed as he lands those jabs.
The bell rings and there's nothing to indicate that Moremi has done enough to overturn the judges.
That should be a win for Sachin Siwach and another medal for India.
