Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 7: Murali Sreeshankar bags his second CWG medal - Highlights
Follow all the highlights from Day 7 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 as India's athletes compete across athletics, swimming, boxing, weightlifting, para sports and bowls.

India built on its strong start to the Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign with another medal-packed day in Glasgow, with three medals on Wednesday.
Murali Sreeshankar opened the tally on the day, winning the silver medal in men's long jump with a leap of 8.09m. Minutes later, Dilip Gavit and Mohammed Basil followed in men's 100m T47, completing a double podium for India.
Elsewhere, it was heartbreak for Manpreet Kaur (Shot Put) and Suyash Jadhav (Para Swimming) as they ended up in fourth place in their respective events.
In boxing, six pugilists booked their spots in the semi-finals, confirming medals for India in Glasgow, while in athletics, national record holder Animesh Kujur qualified for the 200m semi-finals.
In weightlifting, India had only one medal event, but the teenager Sanjana couldn't find a valid lift in 77 kg snatch and bowed out of the competition early.

Boxing: Women's 57Kg Quarterfinal: Jaismine wins the first round 3-2
Jaismine played a counter-attacking game at the start of the first round but couldn't find many scoring punches, while Glynn tried to test Jaismine's defence.
It was a very close round with none of the boxers looked very aggressive, and the judges awarded the first round on a 3- 2 split decision to Jaismine.

Boxing: Women's 57Kg Quarterfinal: Jaismine Lamboria in action
Jaismine Lamboria is the last Indian boxer to compete in the quarterfinal session on Wednesday.
India has already confirmed nine medals from the competition and will hope to take it to double digits as Jaismine's win will confirm another medal.
Jaismine is the reigning world champion and will start as the favourite against Elise Glynn of England in the quarterfinal at 11:00 PM IST

Men's Pairs, Section B, India vs Namibia: India wins the match.!!!!!
What an incredible performance by Team India! It was a difficult match, as the Namibian players kept changing the scores with their final bowls. However, India took control and won the match in straight sets, 5-3, 6-3.
They will play their next match tomorrow against Botswana at 7:30 PM IST.

India made the most of all their chances in End 4, with all their bowls landing in the right positions. This helped them take three points and extend their lead to 6-1.

In End 3, India maintained control and made sure their bowls were placed very close to the jack. Namibia tried until the very end to change the result but could not do so, allowing India to take another point and extend their lead to 3-1. End 4 will be very important for India as they look to win the set. They will need to increase their lead to strengthen their position in the game.

End 2 had a mixed start, with both teams struggling to get their bowls closest to the jack. For a while, India held the lead, and it looked like they would extend it. However, Namibia took one point with their final bowl, taking the score to 2-1.

End 1 of Set 2 was a thriller. India did not seem to be in a position to win till the end, but Dinesh changed the result with his final bowl and helped India take a two-point lead in Set 2.

End 5 was a tense one, as seen in End 1, Namibia had the ability to change the result with their final bowl. However, this time, India managed to keep the jack close to their bowls, eventually securing a 5-3 win in Set 1.

End 4 truly belonged to India, as they maintained the lead from the start. India were on course to earn three points, but the final Namibian bowl reduced their score by one point. However, India still managed to take the lead.

End 3 started with Namibia looking like they would extend their lead. However, in the final three bowls, Dinesh Kumar changed everything by getting two Indian bowls closest to the jack. This helped India earn two points and reduce Namibia’s lead to just one point, taking the score to 3-2.
