AND HERE WE HAVE IT! A fourth Gold for India, fifth overall courtesy the youngster. https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982573273312407552
Two quick wins in Boxing before Manoj Kumar won his bout earlier today. Wonderful for Sarita Devi here. https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982572731433566208 https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982562767285596161 https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982540781209567232
A refresher on Badminton https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982526018006077440
In case you missed the early morning Table Tennis action https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982531953730596864 https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982520082466144262
  • Sreejesh looks gutted and it is indeed heartbreaking. FT India 2-2 Pakistan
  • And Now GOAL for Pakistan. Equaliser with 0 seconds left on the clock. Wow. What final drama.
  • ANOTHER PENALTY CORNER FOR PAKISTAN
  • Another referral by Pakistan for a stray foot by an Indian defender.
  • And they get it. One final shot at an equaliser. Do we have more action on the cards?
  • OH MY, A PENALTY CORNER BEING REFERRED BY PAKISTAN WITH 7 SECONDS LEFT.
  • A wonderful run and team play by Akashdeep and Mandeep. The finishing was underwhelming. Easy to clear for Butt. 1 minute left in the game
  • To be honest, neither of us expected this fixture between the two teams to be this close a contest
  • 5 minutes left until India complete this brilliant clash. 5 minutes to hold on as Pakistan search for an equaliser and India carry on looking for that lead which will cement their win. It's still anyone's game.
https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982496736726806534
  • Heated up final quarter it has bee so far. 12 minutes remaining.
  • END OF Q3: India 2-1 Pakistan one quarter remaining. Can India hold on or extend their lead? They had another chance by Kothajit Singh this time, denied by the veteran Pak goalie in the closing minute.
  • India lose a referral for possible danger. Quicker, more urgent rotational play by India now. They seem to have sensed how close the game now is.
  • The Indian team seems to have lost a tiny portion of their confidence after Pakistan's goal. India have 2 more shots on target with 3 minutes remaining on the clock.
  • It's a goal for Pakistan as they pull one back with 6minutes remaining on the clock. They are very much back in the game. A 1 goal lead is too close a scoreline for comfort.
  • Penalty corner to India. Very good from Mandeep here who makes no mistake in setting up the PC. Rupinderpal Singh goes, a deep touch this time and it is cleared from danger.
  • Shots on target, possession, PC conversion rates, India have ween clearly ahead of their continental neighbours. Pakistan have one half of Hockey remaining to salvage this match.

  • HT: India 2-0 Pakistan
  • Wonderful comeback the former Indian captain and veteran goalkeeper is having. But he needs to carry on this momentum in the future clashes.
  • Sreejesh being tested quite a lot in the past few minutes. And another brilliant save from Sreejesh denies them a third chance at a goal in the span of few minutes.
  • Another Penalty Corner for Pakistan after a review. Wonderful block by India to deny a chance to score.
  • CHANCE for India with 6minutes on the clock to half time. Another fantastic save by Imran Butt. Gurjant was not able to drive the rebound home that came off Mandeep's strike. It's a PC to Pakistan now.
https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982483370104897536
  • Yellow card to India's Akashdeep after an altercation on the field. Things are starting to heat up.
  • A moment of fright here for the Indian team after the goal was referred to see whether the ball had been cleared sufficiently during the injection. Thankfully, it goes India's way. 2-0 as it stands to Sjoerd Marijne's men
  • But wait, it's a decision pending. But the goal stands. Harmanpreet is the man here. 10 minutes left in Q2.
  • INDIA DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!
  • A second penalty corner for India. With 11 mins left on the clock in Quarter 2, India have a chance to score here and double their lead.
  • This has been beautiful from Pakistan straight into Quarter 2. It's starting to look like a more balanced clash now. India losing out on ball possessions. The mid field seems to lack the cohesive nature that we know it for. A 1 goal lead is definitely not much to be comfortable in.
  • A yellow card for Atiq from Pakistan, Pak down to 10 men. Will that be costly?
  • An entertaining quarter so far. India have a slim lead but have missed out on easy chances. Can they extend here in the 2nd quarter?
  • End of Q1. Two wonderful saves by Pakistan deny India chances. We stand at 1-0
https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/982479468437516289
  • Nearly a minute left for India. They're 1-0 up. A Good start in Q1. And India are awarded a penalty corner. Chance at another goal?
And there it is. A GOAL FOR INDIA. A tackle by Rupinder, a pass by Sunil and a goal by debutante Dilpreet. India carry on pressing forward in the game. Yet to find a breakthrough though. The buil-up to the forward pressings have been amazing for India so far. Conversion has been successfully held on by Pakistan 5mins left in Q1. A moment in the D for team India but Pak captiain muhamad Irfan blocks a poorly placed ball by Lalit.
Hockey:
Sumit gets a green card. Will sit out for sometime. India are one man short. Hockey: 7 minutes in this match and there is a stark influence visible of the two Dutch coaches in the game. The ball has see-sawed in the two halves so far. It's deadlocked at 0-0 now Hockey: Here is how the team will line up. What do you think? https://twitter.com/TheHockeyIndia/status/982471936037961728 The second reason for this high amount of anticipation is that this is the first match of the Indian men's team in the tournament. A strong start here can do wonders. Any India-Pakistan clash is always high voltage and this is especially so for two reasons. Coach Roelant Oltmans, former coach of India and current coach of Pakistan is just one of them.
