Indian shuttlers like PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth and Satwik-Chirag entered the quarterfinals while others bowed out at the Korea Open 2022.

Welcome to the live blog of The Bridge from the pre-quarterfinals day of the Korea Open 2022!
To begin the day, a major upset has already taken place with Lakshya Sen losing in straight sets, 22-20, 21-9 to Indonesian World No. 24 player Shesar Hiren Rhustavito quite surprisingly. The pair of Ashwini Ponnappa-Sumeeth Reddy also lost a three-set battle, 20-22, 21-18, 14-21.
On the other hand, youngster Malvika Bansod also couldn't stave off Thai sensation Pornpawee Chochuwong and lost, 21-8, 21-14.
In men's doubles, the pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila retired after playing for just 8 minutes against the Daddies from Indonesia - Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan.
PV Sindhu made a dominant show against Japan's Aya Ohori and stormed into the quarterfinals, 21-15, 21-10 while Kidambi Srikanth also won, 21-18, 21-6 against Israel's Misha Zilberman to enter the last eight.
Finally, in another men's doubles, the third-seeded pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty also made it to the quarters defeating the Singaporean pair of Hee Yong Kai Terry and Loh Kean Hean, 21-15, 21-19.

In the final match of the day for the Indian badminton stars, it is the men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty who are set to play next as they take on the Singaporean pair of Hee Yong Kai Terry and Loh Kean Hean.

And with that Kidambi Srikanth records a very convincing victory and is into the quarters!
Some more happiness to the day as Kidambi Srikanth remains on track and wins his match in a dominant fashion, 21-18, 21-6 in 33 minutes to enter the quarterfinals of the Korea Open 2022!

Utter dominance from Srikanth, he powers to a 11-0 lead in Game 2!
Srikanth is showing some brilliant form now and is being delicate with his net play and powerful with smashes, finding good corners as he takes a 11-0 lead!

Srikanth races off to a 7 point lead and Zilberman looks very much on the backfoot here as Srikanth grows in confidence to lead 7-0!

Zilberman keeps the heat on but Srikanth pushes through to take the first game!
Zilberman is also not being easy to conquer and offers plenty of resistance with some good shots but Srikanth powers through to take the first game, 21-18.
Srikanth has to be careful in Game 2 and not ket Zilberman take advantage.

Things are moving quickly here with well-angled shots from Srikanth!
Srikanth hasn't lost against Zilberman previously and he would like to maintain that record as he looks sharp in this opening game, leading 17-14.
