India chase hockey gold against China, while Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal fight for boxing gold on October 2.
Asian Games 2026 LIVE: India will have several major medal opportunities on Friday, with the women's hockey final against China at 3:30 PM the headline event of the day.
The defending champions will look to retain their Asian Games title, while three Indian boxers will also fight for gold. Lovlina Borgohain takes on China's Ziyi Bao in the women's 75kg final, Parveen Hooda faces Chinese Taipei's Chen Nien-chin in the women's 65kg final, and Ankush Panghal meets South Korea's Kim Jin-ho in the men's 80kg final.
India's recurve archers will also be in medal action across the women's team, mixed team and men's team events. Wrestling and cycling will provide further opportunities, while India will also compete in volleyball, sepak takraw, rugby and canoeing.

Wrestling, Women's 50Kg: Dipanshi Phogat loses to Olympic champion; hope for a repechage now
Dipanshi Phogat was no match for the Tokyo Olympic champion Yui Susaki of Japan as she lost 0-11 after the Japanese found multiple takedowns.
The young Indian will now hope for a repechage if Susaki reaches the final so that she can have a second shot at a bronze medal.

Archery, Women's Recurve Team Final: INDIA WIN GOLDDDDDDDDD!
South Korea, under pressure, go 9-9-10 for a total of 28.
Kirti starts with an 8 or a 9 for India (it'll be checked at the end of the set), but Ankita has firmly strayed into an eight. Kumkum also shoots a nine. They have a combined total of 25 as South Korea fight back.
The Koreans shoot 8-9-9 to take their total to 54. India still in with a chance to wrap up here.
Kirti starts with a 9. Ankita follows suit. And Kumkum hits a 10.
Now we have to wait. If that first arrow from Kirti is counted a 9, India have won the gold medal.

Archery, Women's Recurve Team Final: India take the LEAD!
A series of 8-10-9 for 27 points from South Korea to start off the third set.
India change their shooting order. They send Kirti, who was struggling, first in this shoot.
Kirti responds with a 10. Ankita shoots a 9. And Kumkum misses the centre for the first time. Is it an 8 or a 9? It has been given as a nine. India move to 28!
South Korea are struggling now. 8-8-8 in those three arrows for a combined total of 51. India can take this match in their control. Can they?
Kirti starts with an 8. Ankita gets a 9. Kumkum just needs a seven or more.
She gets a 10. India win the third set 55-51 to take a lead! They just need one shared set now to win a historic gold.

Archery, Women's Recurve Team Final: Kirti struggling; Kumkum thriving
South Korea start their second set with a 10-9-9 for 28 points after the first rotation of three arrows.
India takes aim now. Ankita Bhakat shoots 10. Kirti strays into an eight; she seems to have lost her radar and needs to course correct. Kumkum Mohod, with a rescue act once again as she shoots a ten to level up at 28.
South Korea in their second rotation go 10-9-9, taking their total to 56.
India will need a total of 28 or more in the next three arrows.
A perfect start from Ankita, with a bulls eye. Kirti (in pic) shoots an eight again. Kumkum, just in the nick of time, ends with a ten. India get out of jail, once again!

A 7-10-9 in the first rotation for South Korea as they score a total of 26.
Ankita Bhakat, Kirti, and Kumkum shoot 9-9-10 as the Indians shoot 28 with the first three arrows.
The South Koreans return with a 9-10-9, taking their first set total to 54.
India need a 27 or more to win the first set!
9 from Ankita, but Kirti strays to a 7 in that second rotation. Kumkum needs a 10 to help India level up. And she does!

Sepak Takraw: Women's Group Stage: India lose to Thailand; bow out of competition
The Indian team suffered their third consecutive group-stage defeat, losing in straight sets to Thailand in their final group game, 10-15, 4-15.
They had earlier lost 0-2 to Vietnam and 1-2 to the Philippines, finishing last in their group and ending their campaign in Japan.
