India chase hockey gold against China, while Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal fight for boxing gold on October 2.
Asian Games 2026 LIVE: India will have several major medal opportunities on Friday, with the women's hockey final against China at 3:30 PM the headline event of the day.
The defending champions will look to retain their Asian Games title, while three Indian boxers will also fight for gold. Lovlina Borgohain takes on China's Ziyi Bao in the women's 75kg final, Parveen Hooda faces Chinese Taipei's Chen Nien-chin in the women's 65kg final, and Ankush Panghal meets South Korea's Kim Jin-ho in the men's 80kg final.
India's recurve archers will also be in medal action across the women's team, mixed team and men's team events. Wrestling and cycling will provide further opportunities, while India will also compete in volleyball, sepak takraw, rugby and canoeing.

With both teams level at 3-3 after three sets, it all now rests on this fourth and final set. Whoever wins, moves into the gold medal match. In case they share points, we'll head into a shoot-off.

Archery, Recurve Mixed Team Semis: India draw LEVEL!
A ten from Kumkum, her first of the the mixed team semi-final. Dhiraj seems to have strayed into an eight. Yes, he has. Not good signs.
A seven from Japan to start off. Suddenly Dhiraj's eight has been negated. A nine to round off the first two arrows from Japan to hand India a two-point lead.
Kumkum is now in the zone. Yet another ten for her. Dhiraj goes even better, right in centre of the circle. 38 in total and India have an unassailable lead.
Japan responds with 9-10. But it still isn't enough as India takes the set 38-35 to draw level.

A nine yet again to start of Kumkum, who is yet to find the ten ring in this semi-final. Dhiraj also shoots a nine to take the total to 18.
Japan responds in kind with a 9-9 as well. Scores level.
Kumkum with yet another nine, while Dhiraj also follows suit. 36 in total.
Points shared as Japan also shoot 9-9 in the second set.

Sujeet claimed a comfortable win over Sayed Zazai of Afghanistan despite conceding the first points and advancing to the last 8.
The reigning Asian Champion will now take on an Iranian wrestler in the quarterfinals.

Taekwondo: Kashish Malik loses in quarters of mixed Virtual event; misses out on a medal
Kashish started well and won the first end 32-0, but then she lost the next two, 0-460 & 0-320 to face a 1-2 defeat to 1-2 to Kazakhstan Rita Bakisheva in the quarter-finals.
The winner of the match has confirmed the medal, meaning Kashish missed out on a medal very closely, ending her campaign in this event.

Archery, Recurve Mixed Team Semis: India v/s Japan
Kumkum Mohod, who just recently led India to that historic women's recurve team gold medal, will pair up with men's qualification topper Dhiraj Bommadevara in the mixed recurve team.
The duo will take on Japan in the semi-finals. A win will pit them against China in the final, while a loss will have them face-off against South Korea in the bronze medal match.

Wrestling: Rajat Ruhal and Priya Malik also face first-round defeat and depend on repechage now
Rajat Ruhal loses to Asian medallist Kazakhstan’s Yedige Kassimbek 3-8 in the Round of 16 of the men’s 125kg freestyle and will now hope for a repechage opportunity.
Although repechage looks tough, Yedige will face Iranian veteran wrestler Amir Hossein Zare in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Priya Malik loses to three-time world medalist Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan on a byfall in the women's 76kg round of 16 bout, and she will also depend on repechage.
