India chase hockey gold against China, while Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal fight for boxing gold on October 2.
Asian Games 2026 LIVE: India will have several major medal opportunities on Friday, with the women's hockey final against China at 3:30 PM the headline event of the day.
The defending champions will look to retain their Asian Games title, while three Indian boxers will also fight for gold. Lovlina Borgohain takes on China's Ziyi Bao in the women's 75kg final, Parveen Hooda faces Chinese Taipei's Chen Nien-chin in the women's 65kg final, and Ankush Panghal meets South Korea's Kim Jin-ho in the men's 80kg final.
India's recurve archers will also be in medal action across the women's team, mixed team and men's team events. Wrestling and cycling will provide further opportunities, while India will also compete in volleyball, sepak takraw, rugby and canoeing.

India to shoot first in the third set, since they are trailing.

A poor arrow for Neeraj, who holds for a long time before shooting. Only 7 for him and this could be the end of the road for India in this match.
Yashdeep shoots a 9 and the onus is now on Neeraj. He shoots a bulls eye. India's total reaches 54.
South Korea needs a 27 or more to win this gold medal!

A perfect 10-10-10 for 30 points by South Korea. The Indians under pressure now.
A 9 for Neeraj to start. Yashdeep continues to be off with an 8. Dhiraj (in pic) also can only manage an 8. They trail 25-30 in the set.
A 9-10-8 from South Korea takes their total to 57.
Even a perfect 30 from the Indians won't be enough to win this.
Neeraj shoots an 8 to start India's second rotation. Yashdeep betters to a 9 and Dhiraj stays in 8.
A poor set for India, who concede 50-57 and now trail in the match.
If Korea wins the next set, it'll be all over for the Indians!

All India need now is a shared set to set up a gold medal clash against South Korea. Iran needs to win to stay in contention.
9-10-10 from Iran as they finally put up a competitive score. 29 after three arrows.
Neeraj with a 10, his first of the match. An eight from Yashdeep and India now surely can't overtake Iran after three arrows. Dhiraj continues his good form with a 10. India with a 28 after three shots.
9-8-9 to take their total to 55 for Iran.
India need a 27 more more with the remaining three arrows to secure their spot in the final.

9-9-9 from Iran, who could only muster 27 to hand the Indians an early lead.
Another 9 from Neeraj to start before Yashdeep and Dhiraj shoot ten apiece to take their total to 58. That's set 1 in India's bag with an unassailable lead.
