Women's T20 World Cup HIGHLIGHTS: India lose to England by 11 runs - Updates, Results, Scores, Blog
END OF POWERPLAY!
End of the batting powerplay and India could not have asked for a better start. They are all over England, thanks to Renuka Singh Thakur but would now want the other bowlers to step in as well.
England have their two best batters - Nat Sciver and Heather Knight in the middle.
ENG: 37/3 (6)
India lose their second review as well
Heather Knight tries a reverse sweep off Deepti Sharma and the ball hits the pad. The Indians appeal in unision, but the umpire says not out. Harmanpreet asks for a review once again, and the ultraedge shows a spike as the ball passes Knight's gloves.
INDIA BURN BOTH THEIR REVIEWS WITHIN THE POWERPLAY!
Renuka Thakur with figures of 3/12
Renuka Thakur has lit up St. George's Park with the ball in hand. Her figures read 3/12 in 3 overs. Will Harmanpreet finish off her quota straightaway, or will she hold that one over back?
ENG: 29/3 (5)
DUNKLEY, OUT!
Sophia Dunkley backs away and looks to loft Renuka Thakur over covers. The bowler follows her and uproots the leg stump. Third wicket for India and third of the evening for Thakur as well. An excellent decision from Harmanpreet to continue with Thakur from the one end.
ENG: 29/3 (4.4)
Vastrakar leaks 10
Nat Sciver first scoops Pooja Vastrakar to the fine leg boundary, before getting one more in the same region via an inside edge as the all-rounder leaks 10 runs in the fourth over.
ENG: 24/2 (4)
India lose review
Not the best of decisions from Harmanpreet Kaur to send it upstairs and the women in blue have to pay the price. An inswinger from Renuka Thakur hits Nat Sciver on the pads - it looked to be going down to the naked eye, and the DRS further proves it.
RENUKA STRIKESSS!
Renuka Thakur continues doing what she does the best - wickets upfront. A pitched up delivery this time angling in, Alice Capsey tries to swing across the line and misses completely. A sweet timber sound for the Indians and they are all smiles. Horrible shot and the batter knows it.
ENG: 10/2 (2.1)
First boundary off the match
Sophia Dunkley drills Shikha Pandey to the boundary as England get a move on. 7 runs off the second over.
ENG: 10/1 (2)
Excellent start for India!
The conditions were expected to help fast bowlers and Renuka Thakur has exploited it to the hilt in the first over. She beat the batters on a couple of occasions and was aided by some equally good wicketkeeping by Richa Ghosh. An excellent start all round for India.
ENG: 3/1 (1)
