Tokyo Olympics: Day 2 LIVE, July 25 —Indian Men's Hockey Team in action — Updates, results, blog
Men's 10m Air Rifle Qualifications
A VERY POOR display this by Divyansh and Deepak
This has been a really poor show by both Divyansh Panwar and Deepak Kumar. They were certainly not the medal contenders in this event, but this was just plain disappointing.
If Divyansh was inconsistent with his shots, Deepak was consistent but just could not hit the higher 10s more often.
The start was very poor and both of them gradually picked up as the event went by, but the others were just brilliant and the Indians did not even get a sniff.
In fact, Deepak's final position of 26th was the highest India ever had in this match.
So while the country's pistol shooters at least went down fighting, the rifle shooters (both men and women) simply surrendered. Not what one would expect in a stage as big as the Olympics.

This already looks over for India
Well, this already looks over for India, at least to me. We would need something sensational here from either of Divyansh or Deepak to harbour any hopes of making it to the final.

Deepak Kumar moves up to 28th
Deepak Kumar has moved up to 28th spot and continues to have a wood over the young Divyansh. But, this is just not enough.

Not the start India were looking for
Both, Divyansh and Deepak seem to be struggling at the Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo. They need to put it all together if they are to stand any chance of making it to the final.
