Tokyo Paralympics - Day 3, August 27 - Bhavina storms into semis, Tek Chand in action - LIVE updates, Scores, Results, Blog, Medal
Good fight from Bhavina!
Not so easy, though! Bhavina comes up quickly again to level up at 9 ALL.
Close fight in the opening game already!
Both Bhavina and Joyce are in no mood to squander away points as they keep a close tab on each other!
However, Joyce still has a 2-point lead at 7-9.
Short, quick rallies taking place
Joyce gives competition early-on as well and edges past slightly to take a lead at 3-4.
And we begin Bhavina's match now!
Good start to the match by Bhavina as she pockets the first point of Game 1. Let's chase some history, shall we, Bhavina?
Know Bhavinaben's opponent - Joyce de Oliveira of Brazil.
Brazil's Joyce de Oliveira has not won anything major in her career perhaps but she possesses truckloads of experience having finished fifth in the 2014 World Championships and 2012 London Paralympics. Bhavina will need to be careful against her if she intends to sail forward into the quarter-finals!
All eyes on Table 6 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium now!
The wait is up! Bhavina Patel will be here now to give it her all in the Round of 16 clash against her Brazilian opponent, Joyce de Oliveira!
We have table tennis action coming up in a few minutes!
Bhavina Patel stunned a lot of people by winning her final Group stage match at the Tokyo Paralympics against Britain's Megan Shackleton. The paddler from Gujarat clearly looked hungry for more as she sailed into the knockout stages of the Women's Singles Wheelchair Class 4 event.
A lot of sporting action to unfurl today!
A very good morning and welcome to our live blog on Day 3 of the Tokyo Paralympics! It's going to be an exciting day ahead with plenty of Indians in action.
